Rick Sheridan, MBA leads EMSKE Phytochem – a citizen-science initiative building awareness and fostering collaboration for plant-derived antivirals research. He also runs an agriculture technology venture in East Africa. An engineer by training, the throughline running throughout his career is looking at failures in systems – be they technical systems, knowledge systems, or human systems – and identifying how to make them more reliable. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from MIT and an MBA from INSEAD Business School, Rick’s research has been published in Frontiers in Pharmacology, and his technical writing has featured in Towards Data Science and Seeds of Science. At Biosafety Now, Rick is proud to contribute to representing the public’s inherent stake and voice in biosafety.
